Lincoln Pius X withstood a scrappy Ogallala squad on Thursday night at Lincoln High School, clawing its way to a 3-1 win over the Indians.

After splitting the first two sets, Ogallala led 18-15. Lincoln Pius X proceeded to rattle off 10 straight points to the Indians dismay, going on to win the set 25-18, and set four 25-21.

Leading the way for the 'Bolts was Cassie Effken, who recorded a match-high 27 kills on .600 hitting. Kirstine Linebaugh had 10 kills and 15 digs, while Elle Ross had a team-high 32 digs.

Chelsey Commins recorded 14 kills and 17 digs for Ogallala, while Lisa Hauermann had 12 kills and nine digs.

Lincoln Pius X advances to take on Omaha Gross Catholic at the Pershing Center. First serve is set for 9 p.m.
