Lincoln North Star Athletes Highlight Local Signings
Athletes at Lincoln’s North Star High School signed on the dotted line Wednesday to play collegiate athletics at various colleges.

Athletes at Lincoln’s North Star High School signed on the dotted line Wednesday to play collegiate athletics at various colleges. There were six football standouts who signed on the dotted line.
Savontae Brown was a two-year letterman, and a one-year starter for the Gators. Brown was a 2009 honorable mention all city and all-conference. Brown signed a letter of intent Wednesday to attend Northwest Missouri State University. The Bearcats won the 2009 Division II National Champions. Northwest Missouri State is a Division II school and a member school of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference.
Bryce Dietz was a three-year letterman and a two-year starter for North Star. Dietz was the most valuable player in 2009. He was named to the all city first-team in 2008 and 2009 and was named all conference in 2009 and was named to the First-Team Super State by the Lincoln Journal Star and the 2009 First Team Class A All State by the Omaha World Herald. Dietz signed a letter of intent to attend Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The Bobcats are members of the Mid American Conference in Division I.
Sam Housh was a three-year letterman, and a two-year starter. Housh was a 2009 honorable mention all-city and all-conference and signed a letter of intent to attend Doane College in Crete to star in football and track. Doane College is a member of the GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference).
Dillon Schrodt was a two-year letterman and a two-year starter. Schrodt was named to the all-city first team in 2008 and 2009, and was named to the all-conference first team in 2009. He was a selected to the Academic All State in 2009 and took home honors as second-team super state from the Lincoln Journal Star and was selected as one of the most valuable players for North Star in the 2009 season. Schrodt has accepted an offer as a recruited walk-on to attend and play football at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dylan turned down a track scholarship offer at the University of Notre Dame and many Division I AA, Division II offers to walk on at Nebraska.
Austen Stephens was a two-year letterman and a two-year starter. Stephens was named as a member of the 2009 first team All Academic/All Conference City team and was selected as an honorable mention All City team. Austen signed a letter of intent to attend Chadron State. Chadron State is a Division II school and is a member of the RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference).
Yusef Wade was a selection of the 2009 first team all city and all conference teams and was also a selection of the 2009 second team super state by the Lincoln Journal Star. Wade turned down many scholarship offers at Division I AA and Division II schools to walk on at Nebraska.
In addition to the six football players signing, two softball players also signed on the dotted line Wednesday.
Paige Policky broke the Class A record for the most strike outs in a whole game (20). Policky made the super-state lists in 2008 and 2009 and also made all-state in ’08 and ’09. She had 32 wins in the 2009 season. Paige signed with the University of South Dakota, located in Vermillion, South Dakota
Emily Weber made super state in 2008 and 2009 and also made the all-state lists in 2008 and 2009. Emily signed with South Dakota State University, located in Brookings, South Dakota.
