Lincoln Southeast picked up its biggest win of the season on Friday night, knocking off top-rated Lincoln High 49-45 at Earl Johnson Gym.
The lead shifted hands throughout the game, as Derek Shouse hit a buzzer-beater just before the first quarter ended, giving the Knights a 14-12 lead.
At the end of the second quarter, Lincoln Southeast's Jeff Sheets powered his way up for a tough layup, giving the Knights a 20-19 lead at the half.
Lincoln High would battle back, however, consistently feeding center Dylan Flinn in the post. Flinn had a game-high 16 points, and put the Links up 35-32 early in the fourth quarter.
The Knights refused to give in, though, as Eric Jackson knocked down a tough layup in the lane, cutting the lead down to one.
Derrius Vick then gave the Knights the lead for good with a strong slash to the bucket, converting an off-balance layup to put Lincoln Southeast up 40-38.
