It was an inner city rivalry in the Bob Devaney Sports Center Saturday.
Two high school girls basketball teams from Wahoo were both fighting to take home a state title.
The crosstown match-up between returning Class C-1 State Champions, Bishop Neumann Cavaliers and first timers, Wahoo Warriors brought out hundreds of student supporters.
"It's just another team and no matter who it is, we are going to try our best. It's tradition and that's what Neumann does best," said Josef Matulka, a Bishop Neumann student.
"We have got to win, It means a lot to us," said Wahoo student, Casey Brown.
The students weren't the only ones standing behind their players.
"There's not many left in town. They asked me yesterday who's watching city hall. I said, nobody should be there because they all should be down here," said Mayor Jerry Johnson of Wahoo.
According to the Nebraska School Activities Association, 7,115 people watched from the stands, nearly double Wahoo's population.
