Class D-1 Championship: Freeman Wins First State Title, 52-38
Freeman wins their first state championship in boys basketball.

There’s a first time for everything. The Freeman Falcons experienced their first state championship as they defeated Overton 52-38 for the Class D-1 Championship. Kyle Schlake scored a team-high 19 points for the Falcons and teammate Jordan Pella added 13 points in the win.
Jared Shafer led Overton with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Falcons shot 41 percent from the field in the game, and hit 16 of 27 free throws.
Freeman (26-2) finished last season as the C-2 state runner up.
