Class B Championship: South Sioux City Wins Championship Thriller In Overtime, 60-56
Lincoln South Sioux City wins their first state championship in school history.

The Cardinals of South Sioux City entered the Class B boys basketball tournament as the #2 seed and it was clear throughout that they wanted to win the title, and they did just that Saturday afternoon, defeating #1-seed Omaha Skutt Catholic 60-56 in overtime.
Mike Gesell led South Sioux City with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Groth added 18 points in the state championship win.
Omaha Skutt was led by James Hajek with 18 points and 15 rebounds, Myles Jablonski with 11 points and Jacob Smith who added 10 points.
Prior to the 2010 state tournament appearance, South Sioux City’s most recent state tournament appearance was in 2001.
