Lincoln Public Schools opened Kloefkorn Elementary Tuesday.
The new school is located at 6601 Glassridge Drive.
The $11.5 million building is equipped to teach for the future with an open floor plan for group learning and lap tops in classrooms.
"Our staff's goal is for this to be a warm and welcoming learning environment. Where all kids can achieve at high levels. We want to be creative and innovative and to give children the skills that they need to compete in the 21st century," said Principal Sue Braun.
The school honors the legacy of Nebraska Poet, Bill Kloefkorn.
