U.S. Cellular Offers Free Device Workshop to Help People Create, Keep New Year's Resolutions

U.S. Cellular associates will help smartphone users get set up for success during a free Device Workshop in Kearney. Attendees will learn how to use their devices, such as fitness trackers, tablets and the iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy Note8, to monitor their 2018 resolutions. Individuals do not need to be U.S. Cellular customers to attend.

The Great Winter Ramble

The Great Winter Ramble, hosted by KZUM 89.3FM is Jan. 13, 2018.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with music stating around 7 p.m.


All proceeds from The Great Winter Ramble will benefit KZUM’s Nebraska artists showcase at the Folk Alliance International Conference.

Food by Lippy’s BBQ will be available for purchase and a silent auction of items from local businesses will also be held. Lippy’s will generously donate all food sales to KZUM.

Prairie Pines Nature Preserve Second Saturday Winter Woods & Wildlife Walk

Experience nature and the outdoors during all seasons. UNL Horticulture Professor Richard Sutton will talk about winter tree identification in the Welcome Center at 1 PM before the walk. He will be joined by local bird and wildlife experts to lead a walking tour of the woods without their leaves. Kids can watch for wildlife sign – tracks, scat, etc. Warm apple cider at Welcome Center following the walk. As with all Second Saturdays, the Prairie Pines trails are open for wandering from 8 AM - 5 PM. Children must be accompanied by adults. Sponsored by the Prairie Pines Partners and the Nebraska Forest Service. Partial funding provided by the Nebraska Environmental Trust and the Nebraska Academy of Science. Investigate: Second Saturday Science Lab

Join us in the science lab at Morrill Hall to investigate 'What Goes Up Must Come Down: Gravity'.

Be sure to visit the check-in station in the science lab during your visit to have your Investigate calendar marked. For every three events attended, children can qualify to move up as a “Science Investigator”, plus get a prize. Don’t have a calendar? Go to: museum.unl.edu/investigate to download and print or pick-up a copy of the calendar on your next museum visit.

Free with regular museum admission. Become a member to attend every science lab event for free.

Investigate: Second Saturday Science Lab takes place the second Saturday of each month in Morrill Hall on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus from 10am - 12pm. Creating Your Village: A Postpartum Retreat

You will walk away from this retreat refreshed, renewed and full of healthy, nourishing food, as well as practical tips, tricks and ideas to make the smoothest transition possible.
