February is National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM): Book a Dental Presentation for your School or Daycare

We would like to take this time to teach children about good dental habits that would contribute to a lifetime of healthy smiles.

We truly believe that attitudes and habits established at an early age are critical in maintaining good oral health throughout life. By participating in NCDHM, the dental team, parents, teachers, and others can help keep children’s smiles beautiful now and for years to come.

Please let us know if you’d like us to speak to your school during February. We have a fun and interactive presentation and handouts prepared by our children's dentist, Dr.Kelly O'Hara, who used to be a high school teacher before she becomes a dentist. Her presentation is interactive and gets kids motivated to take good care of their teeth. Will Eisner (1917-2005) was a pioneer who developed the American comic book industry. He created extraordinary graphic novels for three decades and contributed to the formal study of comics by authoring textbooks.

The exhibition, contains 43 large Eisner giclées, selected from landmark parallel exhibitions held at Le Musée de la Bande Dessinée in Angoulême (the national comics museum of France) and The Society of Illustrators in New York in 2017 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Eisner’s birth.

The exhibit will run from February 3 – April 30, 2018, is free to the public, and accessible during the hours that Love Library is open, https://libraries.unl.edu/hours.

Last year we grew to two large rooms of show space & we are putting together a floor plan to better utilize space and give us the opportunity to host more layouts and vendors than ever before.
Featuring operating layouts of all sizes including Lego, N, HO, O, G, train rides for the kids, vendors selling all sizes and types of model trains/equipment/scenery, books, memorabillia and all things railroad related, silent auction/garage sale, hourly door prizes, how-to clinics, kids play area and more! The setting is in Greenwich Village, and Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller's chilling conclusion.
