The University of Nebraska Kearney men's basketball team is headed back on the road for three straight MIAA conference games.
The Lopers are coming off a win Sunday against Hastings College and UNK is crediting the win in large part to their post game inside.
Ethan Brozek, a Sophomore eligibility wise, was one post player that made a huge impact offensively. He contributed 21 points and six rebounds coming of the bench for Kearney.
This may be only just the beginning of what we can expect to see from him. Brozek was averaging just shy of 16 points for the Lopers his Freshman season, but decided to transfer the following year. After deciding to rejoin the team this year, he wasn't eligible to practice until after the first semester. The wait is now over and he is happy to be back with his team.
"It's great to be back, its great to be with all the guys. Its great to have all the competition again, I really missed it. Hopefully we can turn things around with our season but its been fun being back. It's obviously really big, we lost three in a row and we play two very good teams coming up on the road so this was good just to get our momentum back and get us really geared for the road trip." said Brozek.
In his first four games with the team, Brozek is averaging 12 and a half points and 7 rebounds.
Even more impressive, he is also shooting 54 percent from the field,
His consistency may be just what the Lopers need as they head on the road to play three tough conference games.
Brozek will likely get his first start this Thursday against Northeastern State University.
