A Kearney fire turns into a drug investigation for police.

Officers say they arrested Tracy and Pablo Perez for possession of methamphetamine when they searched their home at 1713 Avenue C after it was destroyed in a fire Sunday night.

Both are being held in Buffalo County Jail.

The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department says they responded to the blaze just before 9 p.m. Sunday. Fire officials believe an electrical problem sparked the fire.

Although people were home at the time of the fire, no one was injured.
Working smoke alarms alerted residents the blaze.
