The 2016 Special Olympics Torch Run is taking place in Lincoln Tuesday, featuring Special Olympics athletes and local law enforcement. The run is a way to raise awareness about the Special Olympics organization leading up to the State Games.
Friday Nights Live at SouthPointe Pavilions Kickoff, Friday, May 27: Join the 10/11 News team as we kick off Friday Nights Live with The Wheezetones. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Admission is free but donations are strongly requested to benefit the Child Advocacy Center, providing a safe, child-friendly location for conducting forensic interviews and medical evaluations for abused children in Southeast Nebraska. Concert begins at 6:30 p.m. in the center courtyard.
14th Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon, Tuesday, May 31: This event supports the programs of the Food Bank of Lincoln, allowing them to feed the hungry citizens of our community. Fresh Start Mini-Golf Tournament, Saturday, June 4: Enjoy one round of mini-golf, with a raffle and prizes! The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Adventure Golf (5901 S. 56th St.) in Lincoln. All proceeds benefit Fresh Start. Registration is open until all spots are filled. 10/11 Can Care-a-Van Kick Off, Friday, June 3: The annual 10/11 and NBC Nebraska Can Care-a-Van returns for a 29th year in June! Join us at Hy-Vee at 70th and Pioneers in Lincoln as we kick off this annual food drive around Nebraska. We will collect donations and broadcast live. All donations collected at Friday's event will benefit the Food Bank of Lincoln.
