10/11 Donates Gifts to Santa for a Senior

Home Instead Senior Care has sponsored the Be a Santa to a Senior program in Lincoln since 2006. Since the program was introduced, more than 1.2 million gifts have been donated to more than 700,000 seniors nationwide.

The program is similar to the angel tree program for kids. There are trees around town with ornament wish lists on them. The difference is, these wish lists are for lonely or financially strapped seniors in the community. People take the ornaments off the tree and return them unwrapped. They are then delivered to the wisher, and Christmas is made a little brighter, one person at a time.
