Enjoy a guided trail ride in the scenic Sandhills of Nebraska during the 2011 Nebraska 4-H Foundation Trail Ride at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp near Halsey.
Participants on the Oct. 7-9 ride will travel the trails in the Nebraska National Forest and enjoy delicious meals, family activities and great entertainment, said Stuart Shepherd, executive director of the Nebraska 4-H Foundation.
Those interested in the ride can bring their horses and join nearly 100 other horse enthusiasts at this fun-filled family weekend of horseback riding.
Early registration is $50 before the Sept. 26 deadline. Registrations postmarked after Sept. 26 are $65. Registration includes four trail rides, Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast.
Past participant Meghan Anderson of Guide Rock, Neb., said the event makes for a fun-filled weekend.
"I enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the scenery and of course the Saturday night supper and the entertainment," she said.
For the non-horseback riders, wagon rides are available. Lodging at the campsite and area motels also is available.
