For book lovers, the Hastings Library annual book sale might very well be the biggest bash of the year.
More than 50,000 books are for sale at the weekend event which runs Friday, July 13th through Sunday, July 15th.
Hastings Library Volunteer Services Coordinator Felicia Cogley said, for some, it starts even sooner.
It's year 29 of the sale, and now, she said a line beings forming around noon on the Friday of the sale.
Book lovers wait in a line around the block for the doors to open.
"When the doors open, we tell all our volunteers to hang onto something because a crowd rushes in," Cogley said.
That crowd will clear out a good portion of the books Coglet said.
But, she said there will be plenty left for other buyers throughout the weekend.
The event takes place at the Hastings City Auditorium just West of the library.
All proceeds go to benefit the library and it's planned renovations.
