Billionaire Warren Buffett got into the act when the University of Nebraska Medical Center celebrated the charitable donations made by former Berkshire Hathaway executive Bill Scott and his wife.
Buffett entertained the crowd Tuesday and handed out free Dilly Bar ice cream treats from Berkshire's Dairy Queen subsidiary while Scott played trumpet with a band of med school volunteers.
Buffett pretended to propose to at least one medical student and submitted to a mock medical checkup from another.
Scott was one of the first employees Buffett hired in the 1960s when he moved his investment business out of his home into an office. Scott worked for Buffett, who is Berkshire's chairman and CEO, for more than three decades.
Bill and Ruth Scott have given millions to support UNMC projects.
