Jon Vanderford arm wrestles Sporty during First at Four

Some very sweaty 10/11 news personalities emceed and broadcast live from the Cornhusker State Games Opening Ceremonies! Despite the heat advisory, our anchors and staff were live at Seacrest Field to anchor the evening newscasts. Jon & Taryn Vanderford even helped to load & unload the couch!

You may have seen John Fortney “training” for his event on 10/11 with the CSG mascot, Sporty. Our viewers voted, and picked trap shooting as John’s event.

We loved watching the fireworks, the parade of athletes, the skydivers, and the mascot races at the ceremonies. How cool was it to see Alex Henery light the torch?
