"This grant we received today will benefit a lot of kids," said Food Bank of Lincoln Director Scott Young.

Thousands in fact. As cake is shared all around Wal-Mart, a 50-thousand dollar grant to the food bank of Lincoln is passed on from the Wal-Mart foundation. It will go a long way to feeding needy families. "Kids in grade schools, kids on our backpack program, our summer backpack program and our high school pantry, our emergency pantry, LPS and the Food bank and Wal-Mart are doing a whole lot together which is what all this feeds, a lot of kids," added Young.

Five other recipients received either a one thousand or a five hundred dollar grant.

"Wal-Mart has committed well over a billion dollars worth of food and funds to the Feeding America Network and it's changing the face of the fight against hunger," said Young.

A face that received a much needed lift.
