It started with a goal.
Rhondla Lucero and her group Mojo's Legacy wanted to give back to Lincoln. In December they held a fundraiser and Friday they delivered 9,600 meals to the People's City Mission.
But the delivery was just the start.
Rhonda hit the blender. Ice was crushed, juice was mixed and smoothies were poured.
"(We) want to give them a healthy treat," she said. "These are good for them."
The group soon found it was hard to keep up with the demand because the more smoothies they made, they more smiles they made too.
"I could eat these all day," one kid said.
For the parents, the gift was a two fold treat: a way to let their kids have some time as a kid and a way to teach them about healthy treats.
"(It's) important to give them healthy treats," said one parent.
For the volunteers from Mojo's Legacy, the day was a success.
No thank you's necessary, the smiles say it all.
