But an event in Lincoln Tuesday hoped to change that.

It's a way for military personnel and their families to meet prospective employers.
There were 109 local employers at the Lancaster Event Center, offering between 300 and 500 jobs.
Job seekers could go from booth to booth, learning about and applying for new opportunities.
Organizers say military personnel have the training and attitude employers are looking for.
They just might need a hand finding those opportunities.
The employers stressed these are active jobs and they're actively looking for people to fill them, so hopefully a large number of veterans can find the right fit.
