Lauren Cook says, "Taylor and I always want to help and if we can brighten this kid's day or week, that means the world to us. And I think people need to realize how much it means when we're able to go out to the community and visit people. That touches our lives and it really impacts us, so it means a lot."

In Nebraska, if you're here, you're a husker fan. As for Jamie Bloom, he is the truest husker fan of all.

For Bloom, a visit from Husker athletes Taylor Martinez and Lauren Cook, is an absolute dream come true.

Jamie's mother, Jan Bloom, says, "Jamie's always been a husker fan, always loves to watch it, likes to holler, 'Go Big Red!'"

After Jamie was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of four, he underwent 96 weeks of chemotherapy, Later in his life, he suffered a stroke which confined him to a wheelchair, but even with all that he's been through, Jamie has lived 25 years following the huskers.

And these athletes say they're as big of fans of Jamie's as he is of them.

Volleyball star at the University of Nebraska, Lauren Cook says, "Taylor and I always want to help and if we can brighten this kid's day or week, that means the world to us. And I think people need to realize how much it means when we're able to go out to the community and visit people. That touches our lives and it really impacts us, so it means a lot."

Jamie's mother says it means a lot to her son as well, even if he did seem a little bashful around the quarterback and volleyball star.

Jan Bloom says, "I think he'll be pretty happy, that he got to see them, it's hard to tell with him because he does get shy around a lot of people, lately."

Mrs. Bloom told us that whenever the Cornhuskers' football games are on, Jamie's always cheering for the defense, but we think this visit will give him a little more reason to cheer for the offense.
