The St. Pius X SOADA Club, Students Organized Against Drugs and Alcohol, pulled off a surprise guest - Husker Football Coach Bo Pelini.

"Hopefully through my position, you try to reach people and like I said, it's all about education," said Pelini

Freshman Receiver Jamal Turner encouraged students to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

"If I can explain my message to my youth, why not? It's always uplifting to do that and that's why I came out today," said Turner.

Former Husker and NFL player Demoine Adams equated it all to choices.

"Your choices will determine whether you will win in life or you will lose in life," said Adams.

Husker Volleyball Star Lauren Cook also spoke.

The message from all four speakers was clear and concise - stay away from drugs and alcohol. It was also planned and poignant. The SOADA Club wanted to get the word out just before prom Saturday.

"Prom is coming up this Saturday and we just wanted to have it fresh in kids' memories so they can remember what not to do and what to do and make the right decisions and have fun responsibly," said Kyle Vermaas St. Pius' SOADA Club President.

Pelini's final thought was one of giving back a common sense outlook.

"You try and relay the experiences you've had and hopefully get students to think before they act," said Pelini.
