"We are on track for our best year ever at the Lincoln Children's Zoo. We want to celebrate and say thank you for making it all possible. So we are giving away 1,000 special envelopes over the next 75 days starting next Wednesday."

With the Lincoln Children's Zoo penguins seemingly anticipating a much awaited announcement, Zoo Director John Chapo referred to them when he made the call Friday morning.
"The penguins are flocking and the people are flocking because of record attendance, we are on track for our best year ever at the Lincoln Children's Zoo. We want to celebrate and say thank you for making it all possible. So we are giving away 1,000 special envelopes over the next 75 days starting next Wednesday."
The envelopes contain prizes that range from full meals at the zoo to free pony rides. Lincoln Children's Zoo staff members will randomly hand the envelopes to patrons. Despite record temperatures the zoo reached record attendance numbers so far this summer.
"The zoo is a cool place. The wonderful shade trees are here and it is not as hot as people think it is," said Chapo.
