A national group of living historians soon will be meeting in eastern Nebraska.

The Coalition of Historical Trekkers is scheduled to hold its annual meeting at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park from Thursday through Sunday.

The group portrays different periods between 1650 and 1850.

Visitors may tour their camps near the reconstructed Fort Atkinson.

The park grounds will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the visitor center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the meeting.

A park entry permit is required.

Fort Atkinson park sits east of Fort Calhoun off U.S. Highway 75.

Fort Calhoun is about 15 miles north of Omaha.
