Nebraska health officials are sponsoring a walk to recognize the challenges of minorities with mental health problems.
The National Minority Mental Health Month walk will take place Wednesday, on the east side of the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Scot Adams, director of the department's behavioral health division, says the walk is intended to send a message of hope.
He says minorities are less likely to seek treatment for mental health conditions.
The walk starts at 10 a.m. It's sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Consumer Affairs.
