Two new songs will be highlighted at an Omaha concert this weekend to raise money for pancreatic cancer research.
Former American Idol contestant Tim Halperin and Omaha songwriter Karen Sokolof Javitch will both perform new songs at Saturday's concert at Westside High School.
Halperin wrote "Cross That Line" about the challenges of fighting cancer and what it takes to win that fight. It's the second song he's written in tribute to cancer survivors.
Javitch has written a second song to encourage kids to exercise called "Shake It for NObesity." She says she hopes the song will
inspire kids to get moving.
The money raised at the concert will go to pancreatic cancer research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
