Students flocked to the Chi Omega Annual HalloWing Fling and eat thousands of wings.

The Chi Omega chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln held its annual HalloWing Fling event on Thursday, to benefit the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Philantrophy Chair for the sorority, Abby Peterson, said they had over 1,200 people come to the event by midnight. Chi Omega expects to serve over 24,000 wings with various sauces and various spiciness.

Tickets for the event cost $5 and which gave the donor access to unlimited wings from N-Zone and Upper Crust. Many were seen going back for five or six servings of wings.

Sorority members sold $1 raffle tickets. Prizes include a football signed by members of the Nebraska football coaching staff, hundreds of dollars in gift certificates and more. All money raised from the event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted its first wish in 1980 and has since granted over 200,000 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish also serves as Chi Omega's national philanthropy. To date, Chi Omega chapters across the nation have raised more than $2.3 million and granted over 350 wishes for Make-A-Wish.
