Lincoln residents walked to raise awareness about a disease many feel has been forgotten.
Today was the third annual Nebraska AIDS Walk.
The event took place in six cities across the husker state: Lincoln, Omaha, Kearney, Norfolk, Scottsbluff and Hastings.
Organizers say they were hoping for 50 to 100 walkers, although the rain may have dampened the turnout.
They want to remind everyone AIDS remains an issue in the community and that it affects everyone.
Organizers want everyone to get tested for AIDS so they know their status, and also remind residents to learn ways to protect themselves from contracting the deadly disease.
