From Sunday, October 9 through Saturday, October 15, you can shop at locally-owned retailers and at the same time support Voices of Hope’s Shop to Stop Family Violence Campaign. All participating retailers will be donating two-percent of their sales throughout the week to Voice of Hope.
"When you have enough people in the community, participating and giving back both on the customer level and the shop level, that two percent adds up and it adds up fast.," Indigo Bridge Books General Manager Aja Martin said.
“It’s easy to find the participating stores because of the bright pink posters you’ll see in their windows,” explains Voices of Hope Executive Director Marcee Metzger. “This year we have some stores participating that have supported this campaign for all 17 years and also have several new retailers that have joined the campaign this year. We appreciate the support of all of them for this fundraising campaign.”
Voices of Hope provides free and confidential services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and incest. Last year, Voices of Hope answered over 12,000 calls from individuals needing help or information related to domestic violence and sexual assault and assisted nearly 2000 victims of the crimes through services such as safety planning, counseling, protection order assistance, support groups, and legal and medical advocacy.
