Folks are flocking to the Nebraska Community Blood Bank to donate blood and fight hunger.
For the next two weeks, donors can double up on giving. For every pint of blood the bank collects, Russ' Market and Kraft foods donate a pound of food to the Community Food Bank of Lincoln.
From first time donors to blood bank regulars, the Nebraska Community Blood Bank is seeing some much needed traffic to kick off its 6th annual Pints for Pounds drive on Wednesday.
Donor Chris Whitney said "They get you in. They make sure you are comfortable, all of that. If you have any reservations about that side of it- they take care of it- because you never know what is going to happen not only to yourself but somebody else. "
The blood bank's four locations will be open six days a week through the end of the month to accommodate donors. For more information log on to ncbb.org
