One local group is used to using their talents to help out the less fortunate.

Now a special grant will help them make a bigger impact.

Skate for Change won a State Farm grant contest.

They received the most votes on Facebook out of non-profit 100 groups.

They'll use the $25,000 to spread their message of helping out others around the country and the world to places like Seattle, Chicago and Costa Rica.

Organizers say it's good to show what kids can accomplish.

Skate for Change organizers are also planning to move their Bay 198 skate park to downtown Lincoln.

They say they'll be better able to connect with kids and continue to spread the message of giving back.
