In the Heights At The Lied:
The off Broadway Production, "In the Heights," will be on the Lied Center stage.
"It's its first performance here, in Lincoln," Lied Center Executive Director Bill Stephan said.
In just a few hours, the story is able to expand a period of three days. Its purpose is to give audiences a peak inside the lives of the folks who live in the New York, Dominican Neighborhood, Washington Heights.
"Lots of Latin dancing. If you enjoy exciting music, In the Heights is a show that you will enjoy. It combines traditional Broadway with Contemporary music," Stephan said.
In it's last national tour, the four-time Tony Award winning production runs two days at the Lied - beginning Friday, March 2.
Cause for Paws Presents, Fashion With Compassion:
They're cute. They're cuddly. And they need your help.
"It's to benefit charities for animals," Fashion With Compassion Founder Adair Sturgis said.
For the second year - Fashion With Compassion walks down the runway.
"What's really important, is the dogs that will be walking down the runway with the models. We want to stop animal abuse," Sturgis said.
It'll feature hors d' oeuvres, full bar entertainment and a live and silent auction.
" Stem Gallery has donated a Four Season's Bouquet and we have some really nice purses that people have donated that are real Coach and Prada," Auction Organizer Jane Powell said.
Fashion With Compassion will be at the Cornhusker Marriot, Saturday, March 3.
Sadie Dog Fundraiser:
It's all for the dogs - through the Sadie Dog Fund. The fund helps covers medical bills of dogs - with owners who can't afford the bill.
"The Sadie Dog Fund does this because I love dogs and I want to help them, but it's also for the people who love dogs," Founder Pam Hoffman said.
A fundraiser, coined, Dog House Rocks, rocks this Saturday, March 3.
Elvis will be there - or at least a guy who looks and sings just like him.
That's at Lincoln's Havelock Social Hall.
