About 50 area nonprofit agencies will offer service opportunities for University of Nebraska at Omaha students, faculty and staff at the Fall Volunteer Fair.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, representatives from local nonprofits will talk about their organizations and provide ways to volunteer.
Student organizations and leadership programs director Barb Treadway-Janousek says the fair is an opportunity to introduce students to community engagement -- one of the university's goals of
serving the Omaha area.
More than 75 percent of incoming UNO freshmen indicate that they expect and seek community service activities while undergraduates.
