People, tents, food trucks, kids' games, baby bump bodycasting, and a farmers' market were all part of Veg Fest 2012 in Lincoln this weekend. The event took place at Holmes Lake Park Saturday. The weather was a little on the chilly side, but that didn't keep people from coming out and taking part.
All the food trucks from Lincoln sold their fresh goodies in the food truck rally. Community CROPS sold produce and plants. People sold art work. There were games, yoga and sing alongs for the kids. Nebraska Friends of Midwives created bodycasts of pregnant women's bellies. One vendor described it to me as the fall version of earth day.
The event was sponsored by the Nebraska Environmental Trust. I walked away with some peppers for the chili I was going to eat that night and a terrarium created out of a wine bottle. What a fun event celebrating community, gardening and farmers!
