Bill Rentschler joined the 10/11 News team in December 2015 as a Video Journalist and joined the Nebraska Weather Network in the summer of 2016.
Bill was born and raised in Lincoln and is happy to be back home. He attended Pius X High School (Go Bolts!), where he met his wife Katie and then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he received his bachelor's degree in meteorology. After graduation, Bill interned at KLKN in Lincoln and has spent the last two years at KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming as a reporter and a meteorologist.
Growing up in eastern Nebraska, Bill experienced all the weather that Nebraska has to offer -- from severe weather in the Spring and Summer, to blizzards during the winter months. All of it completely fascinated Bill and is what drove him to get into weather. Bill learned the ins and outs of the broadcast business in Cheyenne as well as learning how difficult forecasting can be around the mountains! He managed to survive the Wyoming wind and he's happy to be back home around family and friends.
Bill and his wife Katie are the happy parents to two cats and one dog and they're family will be getting even bigger this spring as they're expecting their first child!
When Bill isn't at work, you can usually find him on the golf course, watching the Royals and always cheering on the Huskers!
