Taryn Vanderford anchors 10/11 This Morning weekdays 5-7am and Pure Nebraska weekdays 9-9:30 a.m. and Sundays 7:30-8 a.m. She is also a MomsEveryday host weekdays at 8:55 a.m.
Taryn made a return to the morning show in October 2017. She co-anchors alongside Shelby Fenster and Brad Anderson.
Taryn and her husband, Jon, and their two kids travel across the state gathering stories for Pure Nebraska. The show has really become a family affair!
Taryn’s on-air work has earned her a regional Heartland Emmy Award, two Emmy nominations and numerous awards from the Associated Press, Nebraska Broadcasters Association, Nebraska Tourism Commission, Nebraska Corn Board and the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board.
A farm girl from Pender, Nebraska, Taryn attended a country school. She uses that rural upbringing to compliment her reports on “Pure Nebraska.”
For seven years, Taryn and Jon lived in Knoxville, Tennessee where Taryn worked as a producer, writer and researcher for the following national shows: A&E's "America's Castles", HGTV's "Country at Home", "Country Style" and "Restore America", and the DIY Network's "Weekend Decorating" and "DIY Basics." Taryn and her team won a Telly Award for their work on the HGTV show "Country Style." A highlight for Taryn included field producing a segment with her family in Nebraska for the TV special "Thanksgiving Across America" on the Food Network.
During her career, Taryn has been a radio announcer for WIVK and WOKI in Knoxville and for KFOR, KZKX and KFRX in Lincoln. She also served as an adjunct journalism professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Taryn graduated with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism. In college, she played saxophone in the Cornhusker Marching Band, where she met Jon.
Community involvement is a passion for Taryn, and she frequently serves as an emcee for area charity events. Taryn’s greatest joy is being a mom to her son and daughter, and she loves supporting them in all of their activities.
