In the wake of Hurricane Harvey and the devastation in Texas, a number of stories are being heard of people coming together to help the victims affected by the storm.

Now, the Nebraska Cornhusker basketball team and other sports teams from the state, are among those helping.

It all started with a note in a tweet from University of Houston basketball coach Kelvin Sampson asking that men's and women's teams, of all levels, send 20 of their schools t-shirts and 10 pairs of shoes.

Those items will then be distributed to victims.

Husker Hoops took to Twitter, saying a big shipment of gear is on the way.

And they're not the only team from Nebraska that's stepping up.

Also in Lincoln, the Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team responded, as did Doane University.

Below is all of the local teams that are stepping up to help those in need.
