$2,000 stolen from unlocked vehicle in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. – Police are investigating after more than $2,000 was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle earlier this month.

Lincoln Police said a 55-year-old woman left her 2017 Ford Explorer unlocked on Dec. 19 in the 1700 Block of S 23rd street.

The woman’s purse was concealed in the back seat, and her phone was in center console.

The thief was able to find the purse, and steal the nearly $2,000 of cash inside.

The purse and the cell phone was taken, resulting in a total loss of roughly $2,800.

The vehicles key FOB was also in the victim’s purse, but the thief did not steal the Ford Explorer.
