3 sent to hospitals after 2-vehicle collision in West Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Three people were transported to the hospital after an accident near SW 40th and West O streets on Wednesday.

The accident happened at 11:40 a.m. when a black vehicle traveling on 40th Street ran a stop sign and hit a red vehicle, causing the black vehicle to flip.

Witnesses said they believe the black vehicle was speeding.

Emergency responders extricated three people, two from the black vehicle and one from the red, and transported all of them to nearby hospitals with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Westbound traffic of West O Street was still blocked off at 12:30 p.m.
