HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) As it prepares to move its grade school students into a brand new building, Adams Central school district is selling two of its former elementary buildings.

Adams Central superintendent Shawn Scott told Local 4 that Dan Mitchell Enterprises bid $36,050 for the former East Elementary building located near the intersection of 12th Street and Showboat Road.

Scott also said that Adams County has bid $426,000 to buy the former Wallace Elementary school just off Highway 281 about 1.5 miles south of Hastings.

The purchases include the buildings and the land. Scott said some of the playground equipment will be moved to the new elementary school next to Adams Central High school.

Students at the two elementaries will move into the new building this fall. Scott said the new owners would take possession of the East and Wallace properties later in the fall.
