Agencies team up to rescue wild goose

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Lincoln Police Department with the help of Animal Control and other agencies rescued an injured wild goose at Pioneers Park over the weekend.

On Saturday night, a call came in regarding the goose with an injured wing calling for help on a pond at the park.

Game and Parks, LPD, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Wildlife Rescue, and animal control all worked together to communicate regarding the rescue of the goose.

On Sunday morning, Officer Finelli and Officer Purdham were able to safely rescue the animal.

The goose was then taken to Wildlife Rescue where it is expected to make a full recovery.
