KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A Kearney man will be sentenced next month for felony robbery in connection with last year's Motel 6 robbery case.

Elwood Furrowh, 48, of Kearney, pleaded no contest to felony robbery and in exchange a related weapons charge was dropped.

The robbery happened about 7:00 a.m. August 30 at the Motel 6 on Talmadge Street in south Kearney

Court records indicate that Furrowh spent some time that morning in the Motel 6 lobby. Police say he eventually held a knife to the desk clerk's throat and demanded money. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police later recovered a money bag near the Kearney Cinema 8. They arrested Furrowh later that day near a Kearney convenience store.

Furrowh's robbery conviction carries a possible penalty of 50 years in prison.

He'll be sentenced March 23rd..
