LINCOLN, Neb. - Lincoln Police are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred around 6 a.m. on Monday morning.
LPD responded to the call at 4425 Lowell Avenue after a 59-year-old woman reported her house alarm was sounding.
The woman walked into her living room to investigate, and saw an unknown person sprinting through her backyard, police said.
Upon further investigation, the woman discovered someone had rummaged through her garage cupboards and unlocked vehicles. However, nothing was stolen.
Police said they believe the house alarm scared the intruder away.
LPD added two burglaries carried out in similar fashion took place in the same block over the last week.
