Car crashes into home, woman cited for DUI

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews along with Lincoln Police have streets responded to 16th and F Thursday night after a car crashed into a home.

The incident took place around 10:30 p.m.

Authorities said that the driver, Michaella Swift, 25, was driving westbound in a 1995 red Oldsmobile Sedan on F Street approaching 16th Street when she collided with a southbound vehicle, a 2003 red Mercury.

The collision forced Swift to leave the road and collide with the house at 1545 F Street. Damage is estimated at $750.

An investigation revealed that Swift violated a stop sign before the collision.

Swift was cited for second offense DUI, negligent driving, and possession of an open alcohol container while driving.

Swift’s BAC was .0159 at the scene, and two empty Bud Light beer cans were found in the vehicle.
