HEBRON, Neb.- The Cattlemen's Ball has been raising money for cancer research since 1998. To date, the effort has generated more than 13-million dollars for the cause. This year's ball in Thayer county aims to add to that number.. and it all starts Friday, June 1st for Trail Boss ticket holders. It's happening at the Hergott Ranch north of Hebron. Country music star Tracy Lawrence will perform that night, along with Lucas Hoge who has local connections.
Saturday morning, June 2nd, a fun run is planned, and then a champagne brunch. This is again for Trail Boss ticket holders. Top Hand ticket holders get in at 1 p.m. Saturday, and in the afternoon a style show is planned. People will be able to browse the Cattlemen's Ball general store before supper. At mealtime, a prime rib dinner is served to the massive crowd expected to be there.
"On Saturday night our Top Hand ticket holders and our Trail Boss ticket holders will be entertained by Trace Adkins.. and be able to dance the night away and finish the night with the band "Forgotten Highway," Cattlemen's Ball media representative Karla Deepe said. All of this, to not only showcase rural Nebraska, and beef in a healthy diet, but to one day put an end to cancer. 90% of the money raised goes to the Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha.
