LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) Police need the public's help identifying a man caught on camera at a UNL parking garage breaking into cars.

According to Lincoln Police Officer Matt Stegman, the break-ins happened on February 27th at the garage near 17th and R Street.

UNL Police Headquarters is connected to the parking garage. Officer Stegman said a white male in his mid 20's was in the garage for over two hours trying to open car doors. At one point, he leaves the garage and comes back with a tool.

LPD said the suspect broke the window on a car and took several items from the victim's vehicle. A large amount of DVDs, CDs and other items of value were also taken.

Officer Stegman said, it's unusual that someone would be walking in the garage for two hours without being noticed, although it was 3 o'clock in the morning. We're hoping someone noticed him."
