Pedestrian hit by vehicle remains in critical condition

LINCOLN, Neb. – Police said a 32-year-old Lincoln woman is still very critical Wednesday morning with significant, life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car Tuesday.

She has been identified as Halley Hansen, of Lincoln.

Emergency responders were called near Capitol Parkway and A Street at about 1:30 p.m.

Police said from officers preliminary investigation Hansen was crossing the street, with a walk signal in the crosswalk when she was hit.

Lincoln Police said a car was headed south on Capitol Parkway and, while turning left, hit a pedestrian crossing from the north side of Capitol Parkway to the south side.

She was transported to the hospital and is being treated for her injuries.

Witnesses at the scene told 1011 Now the victim was unresponsive.

Police shut down a portion of the road for about 2.5 hours while officers investigated. It reopened around 4:00 p.m.
