OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha police have identified the 31-year-old man killed Tuesday in a crash near a construction zone on I-80.

Tyrone Santos Morales, of Bellevue, died at an Omaha hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was rushed from the crash scene at I-80 eastbound at approximately mile marker 454.

Police said Morales was eastbound when he drifted out of his traffic lane to the left where he over corrected back to the original lane. This movement forced the vehicle into a slide. Morales crossed two traffic lanes before leaving the pavement. Morales's vehicle then struck a parked tractor trailer which was in a construction zone.

Officials said Morales died shortly after arriving at the hospital. No construction workers were injured in the crash.

The accident shut down eastbound I-80 at 13th Street for several hours, causing traffic jams in the area. The area has since reopened.

Due to the lack of witnesses to this incident, detectives are asking anyone who saw this crash to call the Omaha Police Traffic Unit at 402-444-5626.
