Faulty sprinkler, not the snow, forces KCHS to cancel classes

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney Catholic canceled classes Thursday, but not because of the weather.

Assistant Principal Matt Rogers said a sprinkler head came off in one of the classrooms in the new addition on the north side of the school. The water was shut off quickly, but not before damage was done in that classroom and five other nearby rooms.

Rogers said they expected to have clean-up completed by the end of the day and anticipated classes as usual on Friday.

The girls and boys basketball games between St. Paul and Kearney Catholic will be played Thursday night as scheduled.
