SCOTTS BLUFF CO., Neb. (by Release/KNEP) - The Old West Balloon Fest Board of Directors announced today their partnership with Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering as the location for the 2017 Old West Balloon Fest Glow and Festival on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

The Old West Balloon Fest Committee sought a permanent venue for the annual balloon glow and glow events. “Public access, ample parking, infrastructure and land size were the major components of Five Rocks Amphitheater considered as the permanent home for the Glow”, according to Executive Director and Old West Balloon Fest Balloonmeister Colleen Johnson. “Five Rocks is the perfect venue and we are excited to partner with the City of Gering”.

The Glow Night has been held in two different locations since the resurrection of the Old West Balloon Fest in 2015. The Grandstands of the Scotts Bluff County Fair in Mitchell hosted the event the first year, with the Glow Night moved to the Western Nebraska Regional Airport in 2016.

The 2017 Old West Balloon Fest Glow is Sunday, September 3, 2017; events will start in the afternoon and continue thru the evening glow at dusk. “One of the primary goals for the Balloon Festival is to give our residents and visitors a full weekend of experiences; we want everyone to take advantage of all of the Festival activities throughout Labor Day Weekend:, according to Johnson.

Scheduling the Balloon Glow events on Sunday afternoon-evening at Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering; complements the two sunrise launches on Saturday and Sunday at the Mitchell Air Field and offers residents and visitors three-days experience of hot air balloon and family events utilizing multiple venues in the area.
